Find parking faster. Pay more easily. Avoid tickets. Drivers will love SFpark, but everyone will benefit. Less circling and fewer double-parked cars give us cleaner air and safer streets for bicyclists and pedestrians. Less traffic means public transit and emergency vehicles move more easily. For merchants, more parking availability means more customers.
Newly installed wireless parking sensors provide real-time information about parking availability. This information will be freely accessible via the web, text message, smartphone applications, roadway signs, and more. Before or during your trip, see parking availability and rates on live maps, block-by-block, and head directly to the most promising area or City-owned garage.
SFpark meters let you pay for parking with credit and debit cards, SFMTA parking cards, or with coins. To help keep parking available throughout the City, hourly parking rates will be raised or lowered in response to demand no more often than once a month. Prices will be published in advance so drivers can plan ahead, making informed decisions about when and where to park.
Beginning this summer, San Francisco will be testing the SFpark project in seven pilot areas across the City. Use this website to learn more about SFpark, to sign up for project alerts, and to let us know what you think.
